This beloved Argentine classic transforms a crispy breaded beef cutlet into a pizza-style masterpiece. Topped with savory tomato sauce, sliced ham, and melted mozzarella cheese, it is the ultimate comfort food dinner.
Place the beef slices between sheets of plastic wrap and pound them with a meat mallet until they are about 1/4 inch thick. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Prepare three shallow bowls: one with the flour, one with the beaten eggs mixed with minced garlic and parsley, and one with the breadcrumbs.
Dredge each beef slice in the flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg mixture to coat thoroughly, then press firmly into the breadcrumbs to ensure a thick, even crust.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the milanesas for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
Preheat your oven's broiler or set oven to 400°F (200°C).
Place the fried milanesas on a baking sheet. Spread a spoonful of tomato sauce over each piece, top with a slice of ham, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and oregano.
Place under the broiler or in the oven for 3-5 minutes, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve hot immediately.
