This savory ham and cheese pie features a simple blender batter that creates a soft, golden crust without the need for rolling dough. This variation elevates the traditional South American recipe by incorporating a trio of mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan cheeses for a rich and gooey filling.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a blender, combine the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, flour, baking powder, and salt.
Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is completely smooth and free of lumps.
Pour approximately half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it to cover the bottom evenly.
Distribute the diced ham, shredded mozzarella, and provolone cheese evenly over the batter layer.
Pour the remaining batter over the filling, using a spatula to smooth the top and cover the ingredients as much as possible.
Sprinkle the top with the grated parmesan cheese and dried oregano.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the top is golden brown and the crust is set.
Allow the pie to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing to let the filling set.
